Bike the Night Away

The 15th Annual Heuberger Subaru Starlight Spectacular is approaching quickly. Save the date for the night of June 20th, 2009 and Bike the Night Away with 1700 of your closest friends as you ride through world-renown Garden of the Gods Park and then the streets of Colorado Spring. Start your evening with music by Pulpit Fiction, coffee from Colorado Coffee Merchants, and great prize drawings. After your ride, join us for another great breakfast.

New Route

We have slightly changed the route to have you come into the Garden of the Gods by the Trading Post instead of Balance Rock. You no longer have to punish your legs at that hill leading up to Balanced Rock. We will be moving our maintenance station to the Trading Post. You will leave Colorado Avenue at Columbia and wrap around to Beckers Lane to get to the Trading Post now.

No Change to Entry Fees

We are one of the few places that have NOT raised their prices this year. If you register early, you still get in for an amazing $35 for individuals, $75 for families (immediate family members up to a total of four) and only $30 for team members (four or more).

Great Rest Stops

Once again, we will have our famous ‘themed’ rest stops with REI doing the first stop and Colorado Springs Park and Rec and the Colorado Springs Cycling Club and Old Town stop at Bancroft Park in Old Colorado City. Look for costumes and more refreshments at each stop.

Why Ride?

1. It's fun to ride in the dark! A "surreal experience", as many people have told us.

2. It provides financial support to the Trails and Open Space Coalition (TOSC) to help us advocate for cyclists. In 2008, TOSC worked on the concept of placing sharrows on city streets, developing additional bike lanes and trails in the city, funding additional signage to connect streets to trails and vice-versa, and improving the wayfinding system for cyclists on trails and streets to assist in navigating this rapidly growing community. We are also working to develop a Bicycle Advisory Committee for the city, an official committee with appointed members to provide advice and council on bicyle issues.

3. This is an opportunity for you to support the community and help improve the cycling culture and infrastructure in the Pikes Peak region.
